Guidelines for Authors
Q&A -- The Facts
Q. When is the deadline for submitting articles? A. September 7th, at noon (EST) (17.00 GMT/UTC).
Q. Do I have to send a draft of the article? A. No. Send the final article, ready for publishing.
Q. Where do I send my article? A. Send them to cbasturea@gmail.com. I'll send them to reviewers.
Q. Why not send the articles directly to reviewers? A. A centralized distribution system works best. It would be much more difficult to figure out who sent what to whom without sending articles through a single point of contact for distribution.
Q. What information should the author provide about himself/herself? A. Include a one-paragraph bio at the end of the article. It will be posted on the event's blog in a separate sectin. Include the URL of your weblog and an e-mail address, especially if you want to be ...

Blog Hosting
What we have right now:
The domain globalprblogweek.com, with Movable Type 2.661 installed, free hosting for another year and a half, but limited to one database (which will not allow us to install any other platform than MT, so moving the current files with a new host is, probably, the best solution).
What I'm looking for is a long-term solution, that will allow us to use the same platform and hosting services for the upcoming X editions of PR Blog Week, without having to move data from a place to another, and worry about hosting and bandwidth.
As you know, Roland Tanglao offered to provide us with free hosting for unlimited time on a Drupal-based Bryght platform, in exchange for a logo on every page. I'm not very familiar with Drupal, but I'm learning :) It looks like a powerful & very customizable platform, with a lot ...

From their site:
"WordPress is a state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. What a mouthful. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.
More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it."

John Cass:
Constantin tells me we are between wordpress and the Brygtht platform. Constantin is researching the different possibilities but will select a blog management platform for the conference that meets the needs of the community. The editor subcommittee will probably be most concerned about which blogging platform we use.
here's a detailed response: BlogHosting - Profiles/\{\{ConstantinBasturea?}}
On the spokesperson issue, Constantin had some comments (see below). I suggest that the PR committee put a note on the wiki or any press releases that those people who are contributing are the people to contact about the organization of the event.

Would you like to be the spokesperson for the conference?
I'm honored by the thought, but I would have to refuse. In fact, I don't think we should have a spokesperson. As I said, this is an event where we're coming ...

Posting Etiquette
Let's improve the posting etiquette we had for 1.0:
No badmouthing of competition although, be aware that, if you use this site as a venue for pure promotion of your own services/companies, we will not hesitate to out you in the comments.
Posts should tend towards the "informational" and "educational" vs. sales pitches.
We are aiming for an informal conversational tone, but poor grammar, slang, and profanity should be avoided. This is, after all, a business blog.
Once you have created an entry, we'd like to remain as static as possible.
You should feel free to fix typos, spelling or grammatical errors. However, if you make a change to an argument or fix a mistake in facts, we'd like you to use strikethroughs, so readers can see that things have changed. To do this, simply put <s> before the section to be struck out and </s> afterwards.
Please don't ...
